What "affiliate link" means
An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a retailer (like Amazon) that you arrived from Project Perfect DIY. If you buy the linked product — or, on some networks, any qualifying product during that shopping session — the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same.
Programs we participate in
Project Perfect DIY is a participant in the following affiliate programs (subject to change):
- Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
- Selected home-improvement retailers and tool manufacturer affiliate programs (Home Depot, Lowe's, tool brand direct programs, and similar).
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
How we choose what to recommend
- We recommend tools and materials we have actually used, or that we would buy for the project ourselves.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review.
- We do not re-rank recommendations based on commission rate.
- If a product disappoints us, we say so — even when we could have earned a commission by staying quiet.
Identifying affiliate links
Outbound affiliate links on the site are marked with the standard rel="nofollow sponsored" attribute so search engines and reader tools can identify them. Within articles, product callouts and comparison tables that contain affiliate links carry a short "some links are affiliate links" note.
